While I don’t often venture south side, it’s always a good time as Kihei has a lot to offer for dining, nightlife, and beaches 🏝 Upon entering Kihei, there is a boardwalk on Kealia Pond, a conservation site for native wetland birds. My first mural - a mosaic tile collaboration with Philadelphia artist Isaiah Zagar - is located at Kalama Beach Park, landmarked by a large whale statue 🐋 In addition to Kalama Beach Park, many local families enjoy barbecuing, surfing, and chilling at the Kamaole Beaches. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to spot Kihei Canoe Club members, who continue to perpetuate Polynesian navigation methods. 🛶 

A main Kihei hub is Azeka Shopping Center with a variety of shops and restaurants, including the Maui Quilt Shop which sells quilting supplies, fabrics, and kits.

Along the road you’ll find many fruit stands including Yee’s Orchard 🥭

Recently I ate at 1054 Togoshi Sushi, which offers high quality authentic Japanese dishes for a reasonable price in a fun and relaxing atmosphere 

Kihei Ukulele is an amazing ukulele shop that also curates local artisan souvenirs, including my art! They are a must visit if you hope to take an ukulele home with you!
